Apple released an emergency security update for their devices due to two new zero-day vulnerabilities that have been exploited in recent attacks.

The list of affected devices includes the following:

  • iPhone 8 and later,
  • iPad Pro (all models),
  • iPad Air 3rd generation and later,
  • iPad 5th generation and later,
  • iPad mini 5th generation and later, and
  • Macs running macOS Ventura.

The vulnerabilities allow attackers to execute any malicious code they want, turning your devices against you.

This is a big enough security issue, so you’ll want to share it with friends and family.

One last thing: The FBI is warning travelers to avoid using public USB charging stations — often found in airports, hotels or other travel hubs — because the docks can be altered to introduce malware or tracking software onto personal devices.

Remember the safest option is to use an electrical outlet with a personal USB cord and charger or use a portable charger.
